This Pub is now under new management.
A single bar free house that features real ales. A previous winner of the local CAMRA pub of
the year & month awards. You enter from the side (though there is an
entrance through what might double as a tarmaced beer garden, but wasn't when
visited). There is a single bar in
the recently redecorated pub and the heating has been improved. There are usually
three ales on. All the beers were tried and seemed well kept, not too cold but
refreshing in the sunshine. Seating in the single bar is at square tables set
against a bench that goes round the wall. There are also stools at the tables,
but unless you are young they do your back in. The Black Horse Inn serves food
both lunch and evenings, though not all week, so ring to check - it's worth
ringing to find out the opening times as well. The food is still genuine Thai
and is very good. There is a raised seating area
for at least 50 covers. Food
prices range from the cheap sandwiches to more pricey main courses. The bar has
a real fire which warms it in winter. Well worth a stop off the M1 on your way
north or South as it is directly on the road east. A beer garden to the rear
with views welcomes you in the summer. (parts: Ted Weston) No
