This is a 16th century coaching inn with strong civil
war connections, check out the information at the pub. The Hotel houses a
brassiere as well that serves good quality food, though at a price (bar meals
and Sunday lunches are also available). There are two distinct drinking areas
available. The bar has tables and chairs and padded bench seating, while the
adjoining lounge has deep sofas to fall into. There were three guest ales on at
the time, all of which were served well and came from local breweries. Well
worth a stop if you are in the area. There is accommodation here and is of the
highest quality.
