A former cobbler's shop licensed in 1820 to serve the
local community. Now owned by Keith and Lyn Garbett, the pub has recently
undergone a tasteful refurbishment offering real fires, friendly atmosphere and
a choice of real ales from around the country. Our facilities now also feature a
beer patio. Now open for pub lunches 12-2.30pm weekdays. You can get to the
Crispin via public transport as it's on the 558 route between
Dudley-Wolverhampton.

Notes: |
The Jolly Crispin at Upper
Gornal has new owners, is open all day every day, and has very good beer
indeed, usually 4 regular real ales plus 5 guests. The Garbetts have sold
the Jolly Crispin to a couple from Windsor who work the pub at weekends as
they still have jobs in the London area. They have a young brother and
sister couple running it for them during the week. It is doing very well
though and well worth a visit |

I am part
of the couple who have recently bought The Jolly Crispin. My partner,
Julie, and I were pleased to see that we feature on this site and I wish
to update the comments that are currently on the site. We are now offering
a selection of 8 real ales having taken some of the permanent beers off.
We are also in the process of reviewing the Kegs currently on sale. Our
aim is to maintain the real ale feel of the business whilst developing
further improvements to the pub, including provision of good food. Our
selection of beers changes on a regular basis and we aim to provide
quality ales with a friendly service. We welcome visitors to come and see
us and we are always willing to discuss any aspect of our customers
requirements. Tash and Gareth are our permanent Managers whilst Julie and
I run the pub at weekends. (Stuart
Griffiths) (20/4/02) |
