This pub is on the B3055 between Lymington and New
Milton. The pub interior is good, there is a gas driven 'real fire'. The pub
sells real ale, on at the time were: Ringwood Best, Whitbread Best, Boddingtons (also does
lager, Stella and Heineken). The Ringwood Best was very good, with the pub selling 1
barrel per day. Food: At the time of the visit food was not available despite a sign
outside saying open all day. Food Times: Lunch 12-2pm, evening 6-10pm. No accommodation
here. The best thing about The Plough was the friendly landlord who rushed to serve us.
The beer glasses were always full unlike the part measures so often encountered. However,
the worst thing was the toilets flooded with urine, which was a bit of a stomach turner.
Rating: Not Bad. (Nick Lodge)

I found this
to be a friendly family run Pub. Excellent food and atmosphere. Toilets
were 100% - clean and smelling good. I would recommend a visit by anyone
passing through. Food: Excellent quality and Portion control was obviously
not in operation - too much to eat. Food Times: We ate at 2pm. Best:
Friendly atmosphere. Worst: No bad comments to make other than it
was that busy we had to wait to be served. Rating: 9, The Very Best. |

Since
the visit to the Plough at Tiptoe which I commented about some time ago, I
have made a return visit to the pub and found the toilets much improved.
There has been a change of Landlord and Nigel & Jill are very
welcoming. They certainly keep a good pub and the beer is excellent.
Friday night is meat draw and there are other activities going on during
the week. (Nick Lodge) |
