This pub was recently (1998) completely refurbished in nice new comfortable decor - a padded seat here, a new table there. The traditional bar area is retained as is the pool table, dartboard and Sky TV. Things like the curtains are more imposing as are the polished brasses. To counter all this glare, the lighting is very subtle and good for assignations. For the summer there is conservatory so you don't get wet - well this is Britain after all. Beers come from Vaux, but for how much longer we ask. The first floor function suite is still there and can be booked for all occasions. The staff can be friendly, but when it's busy beware.
