A country pub and restaurant with two separate bars. The lounge bar and restaurant has a non-smoking area and the public bar has a dart board and unobtrusive sports TV. Good quality pub food is served, which also includes a specials menu. It also has an excellent reputation for traditional and vegetarian food. The prices are extremely favourable at around £6-7 for a very generous portion (Take Away food is sold at 10% off menu prices). Food is served at lunchtimes from 12-2.30pm, and evening meals are served Tuesday to Friday from 6.30 to 9pm. At weekends the times differ and are from 12 to 9pm. Overall, there is well kept real ales -  just acquired the Cask-Marque - and a friendly atmosphere. No accommodation here, but local B&B is available. Access from Leighton Buzzard train station is 3.5 miles. Live entertainment is provided on Monday evenings (Brian Smith, 2002).
