An excellent pub just off the A34 as you're
about to leave Oxfordshire. A real gem of a pub that has its beams on the
outside as much as the inside. Originally two 18th century cottages made into
one building, this pub is on the main drag through Steventon just under the brow
of the hill - so the road can be fast here. There is a step down into the pub,
so not good for the disabled, though access might be possible via the beer
garden, watch out for the uneven floor levels. Once inside you are presented
with a number of rooms, some are small and feel really cosy and private, all are
original in shape and it feels like you are in someone's house -
Located less than five minutes from the A34 and Milton Park, The Fox is ideally placed for a business lunch, B&B, or just a satisfying drink in good company. They pride themselves on fast and friendly service. The Fox is part of the Greene King estate and offers their range of ales plus wines by the glass and bottle. Food is served here and value-for-money meals are served quickly. They do both bar snacks and á la carte menu. There is also a children's menu They also offer a traditional Sunday roast each week, with three roasts, fish and vegetarian main courses, all priced at just £5.95, and a Senior Citizens' £5.00 Special every Tuesday lunchtime. There are two non-smoking areas available for those eating at The Fox, and they can offer bespoke menus for special occasions and parties.
