I'd like to say this pub had a warm and friendly atmosphere, but the landlord was rather curt and short with us, just because we asked for a top up to well under a pint beer. The home-cooked food is traditional and is rather expensive too for no more than usual Brewer's Fayre meals. The pub itself is spacious and attractive with the bar opposite the entrance. Here there is a standing area for drinkers as the tables can get reserved well in advance and are not usable even if the reservee is not due for a couple of hours. There is a real fire here for winter too. Food is served throughout the pub and there is a vegetarian choice. There were two 'local' real ales on, one from Weymouth and one form the other way. For the summer there is a beer garden to the rear/side and seating out front. Not far from Badbury Rings and close to Wimborne.
