The Railway Tavern is a haven for
real ale and well worth a visit. They have regular
beer festivals twice a year
with up to 60 real ales on, plus food and music. They now have accommodation
next to the brewery so you are not far from your favourite tipple. That's right,
the Humpty Dumpty brewery is part of the pub. Food is served both at the bar and
in the restaurant. Bar Snacks are things like Nachos £3.50; Breaded Prawns £3.80; Potato Wedges £2.50;
BBQ Chicken Wings £3.50; Soup of the Day £2.70; Cumberland Sausages on Bacon and Leek Mash £6.90;
Steak and Kidney Filled Giant Yorkshire Pudding £7.90 (there are choices
for vegetarians). Beers come from the on-site brewery and guests, all well kept
by the friendly landlord. Right next to the station this is an easy pub to get
to by train, but some have said it's hard by road. A real fire welcomes in
winter. Access for the disabled is possible, though not easy. Web
