A real ale oasis serving up to 8 guest ales including three Ossett Brewery beers. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere here as this is the home of the Ossett Brewery and acts as its tap. For those of you not interested in ale there are country wines. The pub is not far from the Calder and Hebble canal. Food is available here lunchtimes only Monday to Saturday. There is 'music' here on Thursday from a folk outfit and live music first Sunday in the month. No accommodation here.

The Mews Hotel is ideally situated just off the M1 motorway at junction 40, set in a charming mews courtyard the hotel has an intriguing past dating back to 1746. The courtyard wing of the hotel was originally a warehouse used for sorting rags, a very skilled local trade and now houses the fourteen tastefully furnished bedrooms which offer all the facilities expected by the guest today. A very cosy free house bar serves traditional hand pulled ales and excellent bar meals in a warm friendly environment and dinner in the restaurant area is a must where a superb choice of food is offered, all imaginatively prepared by the resident chef using only the freshest ingredients. A small function room is also available for business meeting or private parties. Overall, the hotel benefits from being a family run business, ensuring a warm welcome and personal attention to all your needs. Its central location offers easy access to both the hotel and also to the many local attractions. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, which dinner is a must. A superb choice of food is offered, with a regular menu and a daily changing 'specials' blackboard including popular dishes Crispy Roasted Half Duckling with Plum Gravy and Oven Roasted Scotch Haddock with Bubble and Squeak, King Prawns, Cherry Tomatoes and Lemon Butter. Bar Meals are served every lunch time. Sunday Lunches are traditional roasts and fresh vegetables served at the table. The Mews also boasts a free-house bar, serving hand-pulled ales, draught beers and lagers, where residents and regular locals alike, mingle and enjoy the hospitality of this friendly, family run hotel. An excellent choice of wines are available both at the bar and when dinning and we are pleased to offer a comprehensive selection of malt whiskies.
