A 15th Century coaching hotel in the town centre located at the top of the town, by the church with own car park at rear; this place actually does real ale. Adnams Bitter and another guest (Worth Porter) are always on. You have to mind your head as the beams are well low, but it's worth it. It also does accommodation. This hotel has recently become independent and is now owned by a local businessman. It still serves Adnams and Farmers Ale from the in-house brewery. It still offers a good bed and conference rooms. You can be sure of quality rooms and comfort, and the owner is trying to make the rooms a little less faceless. Prices vary so check first.
