LENHAM

Harrow Inn (Warren Street, near Maidstone, Lenham, just off the M20 at Jun 8) (01622) 858727. This pub is very old, and very isolated in a rural setting. More recently it has been extensively renovated and extended. It has a single bar that serves a small-ish bar. There is a family room which gives a bit more space and an outside drinking area. For the winter there is a fireplace to keep warm by and the low beamed ceilings keep the heat in. for the summer you can watch the waterfall in the garden. It's a free house so there should also be a guest beer on. At the time there were Crouch Vale Best, Ruddles County and Shepherd Neame Master Brew. They do accommodation as well Rating and costs @ £45 a double en-suite (pay by the room, not person). They have 16 rooms, so booking shouldn't be a problem. Food prices are average and you can eat in the bar or restaurant. Food varies from stuffed aubergines @ £6 to stuffed baby squid @ £3. Food is served Sun-Fri 12-2pm and Sat 11.30-2pm, 6.30-10pm.
