This pub can get very
busy of an evening and very hot. Situated on the edge of the canal, this old
building has many original features, like the canal side garden and stone flagged floors
in places. An M&B pub it does serve a guest ale on a regular basis, Everards Perfik
this time. Mainly a food pub it served meals lunch and evening in its many rooms. Most of
these are on a different level to the rest of the pub and so it is not really suitable for
disabled people - though you can get to the main bar with a squeeze, if you are prepared.
Inside the decor is wood beams and low walkways that seem to have no real plan, but that's
it's beauty. Tables are dark wooden square with an assortment of chairs. Mainly thse are

Surviving a fire in the 1990's, The Punchbowl has had something of a turbulent history so it's good to see it back on form and in the capable hands of Peacock Inns who have brought their winning formula of pub management to this part of Warwickshire. The Punchbowl combines the olde worlde charm of oak beams, flagstone floors and real fires with contemporary pub features which afford warm surroundings, good atmosphere and a high level of comfort. In places this throws up striking juxtapositions which adds to the allure of this excellent place to eat and drink.
