The Butchers Arms (10 Whittall Street, Kings Sutton, Oxfordshire, OX17 3RD) (01295) 810898. The Butchers Arms dates back to the fire of Kings Sutton in the 18th Century when there was a Butchers Shop with its own slaughterhouse just outside the pub. The Butchers Shop existed right up until 1993. The Canal from Oxford to Banbury runs right through Kings Sutton and many tourists come to visit the village and to see St. Rumbolds Well not far away. As the Canal is only a mile away, The Butchers Arms are planning to serve Breakfast especially for the holiday makers in the Summer Months - more details will be published nearer the time. In the meantime, Lunches are served from 12pm-2pm, Mondays to Saturdays and Dinner is available from 7pm-9pm. Traditional Sunday Roast is at Lunchtimes on Sunday from 12pm-3pm as well as in the evening. Prior Booking is advisable. Delicious Doorstop Sandwiches are available including Roast Beef, Homecooked Ham, Cheddar Cheese, Rump Steak, Hot Thai Vegetable Steak, Bacon, Bacon & Eggs, Fried Egg and Sausage as well as "Sandwich of the Week". The Blackboard Menu changes daily. Specialities include: Minted Knuckle of Lamb. Chicken Breasts filled with Ham, Cheese & Spinach in a Provencal Sauce. Salmon in Brandy & Lobster Sauce. Pork Hock with Juniper Berries and Fennel Seeds. Nut Roast Provencal and other Vegetarian Dishes. No accommodation here.
