The Old Bull (off A422, Inkberrow) (01386) 792233. The Old Bull is set well back from the road and is situated opposite the village green and next to the church in Inkberrow. This pub must be one of the most photographed pubs in England. This it tells you proudly on its literature. A Tudor listed building, which local legend maintains has been a pub since the time of William Shakespeare (records show it as a pub in 1750), it has two stone-flagged rooms and a pleasant outdoor area with a view of the village green. The ceilings are oak beams and trusses and look as though they can hardly hold the walls up. The walls themselves are bulging with the weight of the ceiling, but it gives it a pleasant 'olde worlde' feel. There are plenty of nooks and crannies for 'lovers' to hide and on this valentines day visit, was just right. Tables and chairs are from wood some are benches (padded). Its modern claim to fame is that it represents 'The Bull' at Ambridge in Radio 4's The Archers. Whilst picturesque from the outside (tables for the summer) the interior is also very attractive, maintained in such a manner as to show a lot of the original construction and plenty of memorabilia from the Archers. The pub does guest ales thought these tend to be form the nationals like BASS and Bank's. it does do Flowers Original and Wadworth 6X on handpump, all in excellent condition on this visit. Homemade food is served (including Sunday roast) and there is a vegetarian choice. Service is pleasant and efficient and the prices are pleasing too. The Old Bull is easy to find and has a friendly atmosphere. A good place to stop if you are near Worcester. No accommodation.
