Ivy House Hotel & Restaurant is a fine Grade 2 listed Georgian house, full of great charm and character in the pretty village of Hawkshead in the English Lake District. The Ivy House has a relaxing atmosphere. The Ivy House has a log fire in the lounge for the cold winter evenings. While primarily a hotel and restaurant, it does serve some real ales. There is accommodation here in six bedrooms in the main building and another five in Mere Lodge across the drive. All bedrooms have en suite facilities and are attractively furnished, centrally heated and equipped with colour televisions and hot-drinks trays. Children are welcome, with cots and high chairs provided where necessary. (Den Rees)
