Old Dungeon Ghyll
(Cumbria)(01539) 437272. Very much an unimposing place that is here to serve the needs
to the walkers. Fondly refered to as 'ODG', you can find many smelly wet socks drying
around the old fashioned range. Food is served both lunch (12-2pm) and evening (6-9pm).
The food is simple but appealing like pizza, chili, chips, etc. There is a diners bar in
the hotel part, but you'd better book. Beers on at the time were: Jennings Mild, Jennings
Cumberland Ale, and Yates Bitter. All served in lined glasses and well kept and tasty
