The Griffin Inn has been at Fletching
for over 400 years. The Norman church spire can be seen for miles around. for
the summer The Griffin has two acres of superb gardens and boasts one of the
best views in Sussex looking towards Sheffield Park. The Terrace is ideal for
eating outside in fine weather and forms an important part of the Restaurant
during the summer months. They welcome children and dogs. There is a wide mix of
customers, botth local and further afield. There is also music - jazz - twice a
week. The bar has lots of beams and panelles and a blazing log fire. On the
walls there are old photographs and hunting prints - look out for the delft
shelf. Seating is at captain’s chairs and the usual dark wood furniture you get
in pubs. There is a small bare-boarded serving area off to one side and a snug
with sofas and a TV. They do food here ((12-2.30, 7-9.30 ) - a little
gastro pub, but good nonetheless.
