This is a pretty stone built pub in the Oxfordshire
countryside. It has lots of sports teams that frequent it after matches, but
that doesn't make it a rowdy pub. The large car park allows you to enter the pub
from the rear - though the bar is at the front. This is spacious, but has a low
ceiling, so tal people watch your heads. The walls are bare stone and the
ceiling plain with only a few beams, some of which have horse brasses on. The
small bar itself can get cramped with locals sitting on the stools - so you can
feel a little intimidated getting to the bar and making a drinks choice. The ale
choice is usually up to four ales, all well kept and served. There is wine for
non drinkers. Seating in the bar is at
square
light wood tables and chairs. There is a wood burning stove for winter that
pumps out a lot of heat. All of this is complimented by a dark red carpet.
A games room is adjacent with pool table and dart board. There is no food served
here unfortunately. All in all a welcoming atmosphere and well worth a stop off if
travelling in this area. Access for the disabled is possible.
