The landlord of the Prince cares about his ales and this is reflected in
the quality of your pint. It's also part of his constant changes of the ales on tap
- up to ten. We
all know that real ale is delicate and doesn't keep for ever so he and a great bunch of
staff make sure that your pint is as it should be. The ales at the Prince of Wales are
changed frequently so there are always different offerings on tap and the palate never
becomes jaded. Ten Real Ales are always on the pumps, with an average of four 'guests'.
The ales on at the time were: Badger Tanglefoot 4.8%, Hog's Back T.E.A 4.2%, Fuller's
London Pride 4.1%, John O'Gaunts Point-to-Point 3.6%, Thwaites Bitter 3.6%, Jenning's
Cross Buttocks 4.5%, Ringwood True Glory 4.5% and Wychwood's Brambling Cross 4.5%. There
is food served here 12-2 Monday to Saturday. The food is all fresh and good value and the
empty stomach won't be disappointed. The Prince doesnt like children. The Bar is big and
has three distinct areas. Two open open fires heat all the rooms. There is no piped music,
though they have both golf and cricket societies which meet here. No accommodation here.
