This pub was built around 1841 and is a charming roadside pub situated by a picturesque pond on the outskirts of Devizes. If you fancy a walk town centre is only 5 minutes away. You can also access the pub by the canal towpath. There is a single bar area and a dining area - strictly non-smoking - which seats 22. There is also a dartboard and pool table situated to the left and behind the bar (The table is moved for darts matches). The function room also doubles up as 2 skittle alleys. Satellite TV is situated to the left and in front of the bar Outside there is a beer garden for kids (seesaw and swings, rabbits and racing pigeons). The real ale doesn't extend to very much, but the Wadworth's IPA and 6X are well kept. There is little music in the pub, what there is comes not from public choice but from the CD player behind the bar. Food is available every day. Apart from the Sunday Roast, there is a variety of meals to choose from. The landlord sticks to the old opening times though. Wheelchair access is good too. Bed and Breakfast is available Rating. There are 4 rooms for B&B - 2 family rooms, one double and one single - which can be booked by telephone or FAX. They currently cost £20 per person per night. Although none of the rooms are en-suite, all the essential facilities are adjacent.
