Chequers Inn (203 Oving Rd, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 4ER) (01243) 786427. This pub caters for a
aminaly younger crowd but you can still find the locals in here. The licencees are trying
very hard to make it something and has the occasional enertaining evening as well as good
food. Good guest ales. Can get very smokey. Piped music is contemporary indie and dance
mainstream.

Coach & Horses
(125b St. Pancras, West Sussex PO19 4LH - 250 yards east of Eastgate Sq) (01243) 782313.
Acquired recently by King and Barnes to sell their ales. The pub is located centrally and
is spacious and comfortable after its refurbishment. King and Barnes bought out this pub
to get a foothold in the town and it's a lively place with barbecues in the summer in the
garden. Still feeling like a locals pub with a real fire, it does welcome the traveller
too. All ales on at the time were King and Barnes, but it does do their seasonal range as
well. Food is available lunch and evenings with toasties @ £1.50 and Sunday roast for
£5.50 - but must be pre-booked by the previous evening. The Coach and Horses has pool and
cricket teams based here. Background music is poor - easy listening dross in the main,
some sixties classics now and again. Monday and Sunday nights are quiz nights. Not far
from the station for those coming that way. Well worth a visit. Accommodation here Rating.

Hogshead (50 South St, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 1DS) (01243) 785753. Just like all the other pubs in this chain, mainly
for young people and business people, so usually lively and busy. A good place for lunch
with the usual menu and as usuall, it carries a selection of guest ales. Good ales, wide
eclectic selection.
