An unimposing pub on the road through Chatham. The road gets busy, but there is a car park behind. You enter from the front and the bar is in front of you. It is a small straight one set in an 'L' shaped room. There a four hand pumps serving a selection of beers, but one is always Abbott. All were well kept and served without sparkler. The decor is traditional pub, with dark wood seats and tables, some padded. There is a dart board and a pool table to keep you occupied if the beer doesn't. On Wednesday's they have a quiz night which is rather well attended. The pub is not far from the railway station which is at the top of town - the furthest away from the dockyards, for which Chatham is famous (there is plenty to see here including real warship through the ages to walk around). Food is only served at lunchtimes but alas not on Sunday. It is traditional pub fayre and is reasonably priced for the South. Access for the disabled is up a step. No accommodation here.
