The Kings Head is set in the beautiful village of Cartmel on the banks of the river Eea, not too far from Windermere lake and near the sea at Grange-over-Sands. The pub is in the main square overlooking the 12th century priory. A small stone building from the outside, inside it has low beamed ceilings and a brick fireplace. The walls are decked out with brasses and Lakeland pictures. The Kings Head serves up to 7 real ales at any one time, though obviously during winter this is not always the case and so ring to avoid disappointment. Homemade food is served both lunch and evening and the pub can get busy for meals so book if you can. Quality of food is good and portions are not too mean. Well worth a stop off if you are in the area and like good views, good beer and good food.
