This brewpub is a 14th century building situated in a pleasant little village off the main road to Adderbury and Oxford. It has a 'saloon bar' and 'saloon lounge'. Set in a village it has low ceilings and a smoky atmosphere and decor that looks like it hasn't been changed since 1957 when the family took over. The bar is split between the lounge and bar, the lounge is on a lower level. They also have satellite TV for the football and a strange 'round' pool table. Home-cooked food is served (lunch and evening) in the lounge including vegetarian fare. Rump steak with the trimmings cost £5 - not bad at all. Meals are cooked to order on Sunday, so will take a little longer to arrive. The brewery was founded in 1982 and has five beers. On at the time were: Bodicote Bitter; No 9; & Triple X. other beers brewed are Three Goslings & Old English Porter. No accommodation I'm afraid. There are two other pubs within eye-shot, but one is an M&B pub and the other is a Courage pub.

Additional Notes: The food at the Plough is always freshly cooked to order every day of the week and takes no longer to prepare on a Sunday as a weekday. On a Sunday you have to pre order a roast lunch as this is only permanently on the menu for weekday lunch times.
Service is obviously not a priority. I arrived at 8:20 PM 31/07 with my wife and nobody was behind the bar. I waited  patiently for five minutes then raised my voice for some service. I heard them talking in the other bar, nobody appeared so I left the pub and went elsewhere. I will not be returning. (Martin Warwick - 3/8/03)
