This is a traditional community pub that serves a good selection of ales, including the occasional one from the local brewery. Food is also served here at lunchtimes form 12-2pm and is good value traditional pub grub and the plus is that you can eat it in a smoke free environment as the Cock has an area set aside for that purpose. As this is a community local you can also sample the delights of the pub quiz on a Sunday and Thursday evening and music from the acoustic side on Tuesday. The pub has won the local CAMRA pub of the year contest a couple of times so you should know what you are getting here. No accommodation, but 4 miles is not too far to travel if you want to visit this pub.
