The Bulls Head
(Barston Lane, Barston, Solihull, West Midlands).
(01675) 442830. This is a 17th century village inn and has been kept in that
condition by the present owners. From the outside it looks just like many of the
other houses in this vicinity, but inside it has kept the charm of an old
English pub. Also from the outside it says M&B beers, but also has a couple
of guest ales on regularly. In the past it has featured in the CAMRA Good Beer
Guide and has been Solihull CAMRA pub of the year in 1998. There is a separate restaurant
(though you can still eat in the bar if you wish) serving good quality food
(lunchtimes and evenings) in pleasant surroundings. However, there are no meals
on Sundays? Vegetarian choice is good, but prices overall are a little high
£11.95 for a main meal! For the summer there is a beer garden and for the
winter there is a log fire to warm your bones by. Worth a stop over if you are
nearby.
