This is a sixteenth century
village pub in the heart of Aylesbury. It is a pub that cares about its customers and the
community. There is a simple reason for that. Landlord Ian Brown is determined to keep The
Queen's Head a reflection of the town as it used to be, at the same time as meeting the
demands that customers nowadays are making on them. What he has been able to achieve is to
retain a traditional village pub right in the heart of Aylesbury, the county town of
Buckinghamshire. There is little to match it in the area. At lunchtimes it is regularly
busy with business people who work in and around the town. Both at lunchtime and in the
evening the pub provides an extensive menu offering good food at reasonable prices. With
its own restaurant area families are made more than welcome. There are two bars with a
choice of real ales on at any one time. On this occasion there were two beers Exmoor Xmas
and Ridley's EXS. If you fancy it, they also do company quiz nights, folk nights and theme
dinners. They also do accommodation, though we didn't see it on this visit, so a
provisional Rating is given. Guests come from all
over the world and one thing they appreciate is the easy access from Aylesbury to other
parts of the country. The pub is only a few yards from the award winning Buckinghamshire
County Museum and is within easy reach of both bus and rail stations. Holiday Inn, Garden Court, Aylesbury, Watermead, Aylesbury,
