Red Hart (Awre, Gloucestershire, GL14 1EW) (01594) 510220. Signposted off A48 South
of Newnham and from Blakeney this is an easy pub o find. Built in the 16th Century as
lodgings for the workmen building the adjacent church, the Red Hart remained open as a pub
once work had been completed. It is a cosy pub with a warm atmosphere and sports a glass
covered well in the centre of the bar. The busy restaurant has themed food evenings. The
food is top quality and bar snack and main meals cater for both vegetarian and children's
needs. Well worth seeking out. No smoking area. Open 12 - 3, 6.30 - 11 Monday to Friday.
12 - 3, 6 - 11 Saturday. 12 - 3 and 7 - 10.30 Sunday. It has Bass and guest ales, usually
three in the winter and four in summer. For summer there is a beer garden.
