Additional Notes: The pub you mention in Ascot High Street, The Stag, was recently refurbished.  It's now got no bar atmosphere and they are concentrating on restaurant only. It's horrendously expensive. The best pub in the Ascot area is about 1/2 mile up the road towards Windsor called The Rose and Crown at Woodside. It's just 1/2 mile from Ascot racecourse. Excellent food and beers. They have a website www.roseandcrownascot.com i think. Check it out - the food is great. (25/1/04)
Fantastic food. Maybe pricey, but well worth it. The presentation is fantastic. Ambience is really good too. (20/7/04)
