The Brandy Cask

THIS PUB IS CLOSED AT PRESENT

A pub with its own brewery in the courtyard at the rear.

Situated on the road to the bridge on the way out of Pershore, this is a friendly local that has a lot of out of towners visiting to try the Brandy Snapper, Whistling Joe and John Baker's Original that are usually on. There are also a couple of guest ales on at the time including Hanby Old Wemian Ale.

The bar is directly in front of you with an overhang. There are two drinking areas plus a restaurant.

The restaurant has table service and quality food on average £8-£15. They also do bar food, sandwiches and traditional bar meals around £4-£6.

The seating area to the left is in a window and are round tables with chairs. The area to the right has a step down from the bar edge. The ceiling here is high and gives an airy feeling, though it doesn't get the sun light here. There is more seating in this part and a dart board. The toilets are also through here too. Toilets are old fashioned and the gents don't stop flushing at present.

The beer garden is a pleasure to sit in, backing on to the canal as it does. There is a large fish pond with friendly fish and plenty of seating under vine covered wooden framework. Food can be eaten out here as well.

The brewery is out here too and you can look through the windows to wonder at what's new. Pub has a real fire too. Regular beer festivals are held here in August.

No accommodation here though.

**STOP PRESS**

We are told the owner wants to shut up shop and turn the pub into flats! We recommend going along and telling him not to by buying more beer and showing him how good a pub can be.

Absolutely, the best beer in town, some of the cheapest to. Lovely pub. (Wayne)

Wonderful pub. Very good, cheap beer, friendly, lovely garden. Food not special, just good pub food. (Keith Davies - 22/8/04)

The Brandy Cask backs onto the River Avon - and not the canal as stated in the review. They are adding en-suite bedrooms to their facilities and have just renovated their moorings. (25/8/05)
