The Barrel Drop

This is a single room micro pub on a split level.

You can find the place down Hurts Yard, a very small cut between buildings off Upper Parliament Street. Blink and you will miss it.

The old style bowed shop front puts you on a landing and you have to step down to the rudimentary bar that barely separates you from the barrels of real ale on the back wall under cooling jackets.

Everything here is served by gravity and teh selection is tremendous with ten real ales on. There are some bottles in the fridge to the right. Staff do not have the usual till, but a tablet on which to record your purchases - all very hi-tech.

There is a further seating area to the rear in the back room with tables and chairs.

Background music in the evenings.

It is very sparsely decorated.

Dog friendly.

Children Welcome.

Closest tram - 'Royal Centre'.
