Monty's Club  

While this sounds like a club, it functions as a pub.

Monty's is on the main street through Newtown and is close to other pubs.

Inside it can seem a little basic and oddly set out. The bar is behind a pillar and stud wall with limited room to stand in front of it. At the front of the club there are leather sofas around the wall and traditional tables and stools/chairs. Carpet here is dark and colourful.

Above the entrance to the seating area mentioned is a TV which people standing at the bar can watch.

There are other seating areas to the rear. A pool room is on the right the entrance. To the rear is a large function room where they have live music. Upstairs there are small rooms which can be used for meetings

As this used to be the British Legion there are military pictures/paintings on the walls.

The guest ale usually comes from the Three Tuns brewery.

The train station is a short walk away, as is the bus station.
