Newcastle Arms

Situated at the very fringe of Newcastle's China town, The Newcastle Arms is the perfect meeting place for a night out with a bite to eat afterwards at the local Chinese restaurants. It has also been CAMRA pub of the Year 2006/2007 for Tyneside & Northumberland.

This is a traditional old style real ale pub dating back to 1903 with wooden floors and a large fireplace. The marble frontage seems quite imposing, but the welcome is warm inside. There are six handpulls, one always Deuchar's IPA plus 5 ever-changing guest cask ales. They also stock cider and perry.

While there is no jukebox sport is shown here, well it would being only 300 yards from St. James' Park. You can also connect your laptop here, but only via the expensive 'Cloud' method.

Music is regularly held here, e.g. Northern soul nights on the last Sunday of each month.

A traditional local with the atmosphere to match and, comfortable seating throughout. Well worth a visit (nearest Metro is St.James). To cap it all, they have a bi-annual beer festival in June & January.
