The Nelson Tavern  

The Nelson is a locals pub, but attracts a lot of passing tourist trade as it is well known for its food and ales.

It has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Seating is around the shortened 'J' shaped bar with tables against the wall. These seat different amounts of customers so there should be something for any size group. The bar also has stools at it, which can be difficult to negotiate at busy times. The staff though are attentive and pleasant.

The walls are covered is sailing/the sea memorabilia. As the pub is not far from the harbour that's to be expected.

There is a dedicated eating area behind the bar and down steps. Here you can try to sumptuous genuine Thai food.

Food is served here and the Thai and English menus are available in the bar between 12-2.30pm and 6–10.00pm daily. The Nelson also does a takeaway service seven days a week with a fully licensed seated waiting area with sky television.

Along with Thai Food, the Nelson specializes in Dorset Cream Teas which are complemented by a range of over 50 teas from all over the world.

There is a large south facing walled garden with plenty of seating and a heated smoking area.

Sky TV available.

There is regular live music in the bar.

The Nelson represents a great place to be when the weather inhibits fun on the water.
