The Thorn Tree

The Thorn Tree Inn is a small, comfortable, traditional pub dating from the 1800's. It sits on Jackson Road, high on Matlock Bank, its windows and terrace looking southwards across the Derwent Valley towards Riber Castle and beyond. There is also a large outdoor canopy with electric heaters for those chilly evenings.

This cosy pub welcomes visitors and locals alike. Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult. Mud, the pub's chocolate Labrador, is happy to see her canine visitors come in with their owners.

The pub serves seven ales, four of which are guests.

The pub has two darts teams. For those who fancy a go there is a selection of communal darts. Board games are also available.

The pub has free wi-fi for customers. Please ask at the bar for the password.

Home cooked food is served at certain times in the week, Tuesday to Friday lunchtime 12-1.45pm. They also hold a Pie Night on a Wednesday 6-8.30pm and a Sausage 'n' Mash night on the last Wednesday of every month. On Sundays, they serve a roast 5-6.30pm.

You can book the pub for a party if you wish.
