The Glasshouse  

To get to this pub you need to follow the A40 and the turning is just off it west of Huntley. This is a beautiful pub tucked away the other side of the village from the A40. It is unspoilt by any development and retains its country pub air. The floor is mostly original quarry tiling and the seating old tables and chairs. The beer is served direct from the barrels behind the bar and was Butcombe Bitter, Bass and guest ale. The garden has an old cider press and a bench arched over by a yew hedge. There are plans to add an additional lounge area and more garden. Definitely worth a visit. Children are welcome for meals if they are well behaved. Food is served lunch (12-2) and evenings (7-9pm) Monday to Saturday and Sunday's in the summer only. It is a varied selection of home cooked food and is wholesome and hand-crafted. Opening times are 11.30-3pm, 6.30-11pm Monday to Saturday and 12-3, 7-10.30 Sunday. No accommodation here.
