The Old Fountain

The Old Fountain is a family run Freehouse pub situated in Old Street (Tube exit 4). The pub has been in the hands of the Durrant family since 1964 and was formally a Whitbread house.

The Old Fountain makes great use of its Freehouse status and offers a wide range of beers, up to seven guests plus London Pride. They have Paulaner Munchen on draught. They also serve up to eleven keg beers.

The Old Fountain stands in a quiet city side street that was named after Count Baldwin of Flanders, a leader in the Fourth Crusade, who later became Emperor of Constantinople.

Inside it looks like a traditional boozer with stools at the bar and a fruit machine.

Traditional pub food is served Monday to Friday from noon until 2.30pm. The Specials board changes everyday.

A variety of sandwiches with freshly made fillings are also available including Salt Beef.
