Admiral Hardy  

This pub is right by the university of Greenwich and next door to the Greenwich indoor market. In fact its rear doors open out to the market foot traffic.

The frontage is nondescript as you would expect in this area, but once inside it has the traditional dark wood floors and dark wood furniture including 'Friends' like leather sofas - which actually makes couple drinking rather difficult a you constantly have to turn your head. However, lots of people like this so that's fair enough.

On this visit - Saturday - they didn't have any guest ales on, just the usual one above. In most of the guides it says there are more beers available, so maybe they had a rush on Friday night.

The pub dates from 1830, though the inside is more recent. There is even a large fish tank in the far, darkened, room.

There are two distinct areas to sit with sofas and tables/chairs and one small-ish bar with over mantle. There is no food served here, for that try the Spanish Galleon down the road on the corner.

The local tube is the Docklands Light Railway - Cutty Sark stop.
