The Cricketers
This is a pub with a view over the village green of Littlewick, nr J4 of M40 & J8/9 of M4. A charming unspoilt inn situated in a quiet location.
Cricket is played out front in the summer and in the winter, the cricket comes into the pub with all its memorabilia. Players sit round the open fire dreaming of past and future glories.
The pub is also less than 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport on the M4. The Cricketers is in a region noted for it's many tourist attractions.
The inside is split into three drinking areas so that pool players can be kept out of the way. the real fire warms another part. A lovely pub with cosy atmosphere, open fire, friendly staff and a picturesque quiet location overlooking the cricket green. For the summer there is a garden for children until 6pm. This doubles as the beer garden too.
This Hall & Woodhouse pub offers a choice of Badger real ales.
They also serve home cooked food at both lunch times (12-2pm) and evenings (6-9pm, Monday-Saturday), every day of the week (12-4pm, Sundays). Food is traditional and wholesome and well worth a stop off before a flight out to other climes. Pub favourites like fish & chips, scampi, steaks, home made pies, etc. are served plus specials. The meal sizes are good too. Starters/light bites from £3.95, mains from £5.75, desserts from £3.25.
Along with food, they do comfortable en suite accommodation Rating from £45 per night bed & breakfast. Not bad at all.
Overall good impression of a traditional village pub.
