Sanctuary

Acquired by Cameron's Brewery of Hartlepool in 2018 and reopened as Head of Steam. Then refurbished a year later and name changed to Sanctuary.

All bright wood floors and eclectic furniture, high chairs, sofas, booths, and padded lounge chairs. High ceilings make this pub lighter than others. There are some raised drinking areas and toilets are upstairs.

They serve up to seven real ales on handpull (2 from Camerons) and have a number of craft beers too. They also serve a number of Belgian and continental beers on tap. Additionally, there is a range of bottled Belgian and American beers. Real cider here.

The drinking and dining area spreads over two floors linked by a staircase. Overhead is an impressive beer bottle chandelier. Illustrations around the walls feature Cameron's Brewery and railway pictures.

There is food here (12-9pm, 7pm Sunday) and is of the burgers and pizzas variety plus their own twist on pub staples.

The bar is to the left of entrance and is nearly as long as the depth of the pub. Real ales are all the way to the back end of the bar though?

Beer prices are similar to London prices, the only place in Leicester to charge so much for real ale!

No beer garden (sit on street outside), trapped on both sides by roads.

Disabled access.

Live music here. Smoking area outside. Free WiFi
