The White Swan Hotel  

A 14th century coaching inn offering en-suite accommodation. Located in the centre of of the town, the White Swan has a large lounge bar where you can sample up to two guest ales plus its own house beer. Reputedly haunted by a housemaid who was hanged at for murder in the square outside. Food is good as you would expect from a hotel. Occasionally they have special offers, buy one get one free for main meals. Music is a popular feature here, though of the jazz variety. There is also a quiz every Thursday night. Not far from the railway station and you can camp here too if you wish. A beer garden for the summer is available, but access for the disabled is not good.

The white swan has just reopened after being refurbished. It is a warm and friendly pub with a nice atmosphere, give it a try! Roger & Heather are your new hosts, with Harry hoping to get well known for his food. (21/10/04)

We went last night and were most disappointed! Doubt we would go back. (17/5/05)
