Mr Grundy's Tavern

This bar is part of the the Georgian House Hotel on the Ashbourne Road as you go out of Derby towards Markeaton Park.

You enter from the side and once you do, you are in what feels like a gentleman's club, with wood panelled walls and leather button sofas. The bar is to the left of the entrance and is full of hand pumps, at least 8 beers are on, including four from Mr Grundy's Brewery. All are well served and you can try a third of a beer for a pound as of 2011.

Bar food is served here and the menu has a wide variety of choices, all freshly prepared. There is also a vegetarian choice. Food is served Monday to Saturday 12 to 2.30pm, and 5.30 to 9pm. On Sunday's they do the usual roast and a special large plate for those who are very hungry. Sunday lunch is served from 12 to 4pm.

For the summer there is a beer garden, apparently one of the biggest beer gardens in Derby.

For the winter there is a real fire to warm the bones.

Children welcome.
