A fine old building that has windows more like a shop than a pub.

It serves up to four ales including Yates Bitter and Keswick Thirst Rescue. There is also a good choice of foreign beers.

Food is served here and ranges from light snacks such as Tapas 5-10pm.

The pub has two wood burning stoves, one in back family room where there is some ancient stripped brick. There are slate flagstones by the counter on left and bare boards on right. Seating is a variety, but there are window seats and a couple of high-backed settles. On the walls are some Lakeland landscapes.

Traditional pub games are played here.

There is background music

Dogs allowed in bar if well behaved.

For the summer there is a courtyard.
