An 18th century coaching inn that still has its charm. It did have a Victorian makeover, but that hasn't quite obliterated its original character. Food is served here all day and is good quality - eat it in the large conservatory. Despite Bury being a Greene King stronghold, this pub does have guest ales - Adnams Broadside, Nethergate IPA. They did also have Tetley Bitter and Ind Coope Burton Ale. No accommodation here.
