The Craven Arms

The Craven Arms is not far from The Mailbox in Birmingham.

The inside reminds you of a traditional boozer, but in good fabrics. Seating is a mix of tables chairs and stools plus a wall bench or two. A long corridor leads to the toilets and another seating area. The bar is chest hight and displays the beers with tasting notes on/by the pumps. Prices can be a bit on the London side of high here, which is a shame as Birmingham is quite cheap to drink in normally. For the winter it has real fires.

The exterior is blue and gold Majolica tiling and sits in contrast to the 1970s style around it.

They serve up to eleven ales here plus four craft keg beers. A bottle selection changes regularly.

Cobs and Cheese Platters offered to accompany ales. Though they extol the same virtue as the Wellington in town by saying you can bring your own food.

Private function room available.

Regular events include the 10 Ale Club and CAMRA meetings, and Cheese Nights.

No children or dogs.
