Ambrose hotel  

A 19th century public house that has up to three real ales on at any one time. Most of these are local to Cumbria as well, so a good chance to sample local ales.

They also serve real perry and cider and wheat beer.

Food is served both lunchtimes and evenings and is good quality food that is a little more expensive, but more than traditional food.

For winter there is a real fire and the Ambrose is well placed for long walks and great views.

CAMRA members should be able to get a discount on accommodation. Ask them for their special weekend break offers.
