Caledonia Hotel  

A long-established comfortable pub recently fully refurbished throughout. The beer garden has also just been completed to compliment the summer sun. They also have three luxury twin en-suite letting bedrooms - though not seen on this occasion. The beers on at the time were Robinson Hatters Mild, Best Bitter and Frederic's which are always available. The Caledonia is the only pub in Ashton selling Frederics Draught Ale. Food is also served at lunchtime 11.30-2.30 Monday to Saturday and 12-3 Sundays. Food is also served in the evenings from 5-7 Tuesday to Thursday and 5-8 Friday and Saturday. The 3 course Sunday roast special is only ?6.95 and is a large helping of what your mother used to make. Open all day Monday to Saturday, 12-4pm and 7-10.30pm Sundays.

Have just read your review on the above pub. My niece & I were there last Monday & I agree with what you have said. I judge pub by it's atmosphere as well the beer, & that of the Caledonia was comfortable & friendly.? (Roger Sidebotham - 12/8/03)
