The Sussex Ox

Originally a slaughter house and butcher's shop, then called The Royal Oak, The Ox has had a colourful life.

They serve up to 4 ales, two of which are guests. They also do a real cider to slake the thirst.

Food is served here 12-2pm and 6-9pm seven days a week. It is good and wholesome with a bit of imagination. There are even interesting choices for vegetarians.

There is also good wheelchair access, though no dedicated loo but you are able to negotiate the ordinary ones easily.

Another good aspect of the pub is that children are allowed in the Garden Room to eat with the over 14s eating in the dining room and lower bar area. Dogs on a lead are also allowed in the bar area and in the gardens.

For the summer there are nice gardens front and rear with great countryside views.

No real fire, but a wood burning stove for winter.

No accommodation here.
